GET INVOLVED IN THE NEXT PHASE OF A EULOGY FOR JANE DOE

There are many ways to become part of this evolving, multidisciplinary project—from helping fund new artistic collaborations to contributing your creative voice, sharing your knowledge, or bringing the project into your own community.

Whether you give, create, or connect us with others, you can help carry this collective act of remembrance forward.

Help Fund the Next Chapter

Your contribution helps us commission and compensate the artists bringing A Eulogy for Jane Doe beyond the page—into monologue, music, and movement.

Every gift helps make this next phase possible, carrying the project into new forms of collective remembrance.

In keeping with our commitment to helping unidentified women be remembered and identified, 5% of donations will also support the DNA Doe Project, a nonprofit organization that uses investigative genetic genealogy to help identify the unidentified, including women honored through A Eulogy for Jane Doe.

As a thank-you, donors who contribute $500 or more will receive a complimentary print featuring one of the project's art-and-poetry pieces at a later date.

The work is already growing.

A Collective Voice of Mourning and Celebration

A Eulogy for Jane Doe began with the belongings of unidentified women—small traces of lives whose stories remain unknown. Those objects became illustrations. The illustrations inspired poems. Together, they became an act of honoring.

Now, the project is growing again.

New illustrations and monologue poems will form the foundation for an evolving collaboration with musicians, dancers, and choreographers, culminating in a multidisciplinary performance and giving a new layer of presence, physicality, and voice. Recordings of the work will also extend the project’s reach to educators, activists, artists, and communities beyond the stage.

The Living Eulogy

Over the past two and a half years, University of Arizona students have created more than 300 poems, letters, and other creative works in response to the project. Meanwhile, a Eulogy for Jane Doe UCLA Chapter is underway. Together with the commissioned illustrations and poetry, these works have helped and will continue to weave the Living Eulogy.

Contributing to and witnessing this project isn’t just about contributing to an evolving archive. It is about becoming part of a collective voice, a shared act of remembrance, and an invitation to honor women and girls whose lives, identities, and memories have been obscured or lost through violence.

One student wrote:

“As a survivor of gender-based violence, participating in this project and honoring unidentified women was the most meaningful and healing experience of my undergraduate education.”

— University of Arizona student

A contributing poet wrote:

“Outstanding and life-changing. Not only did this project have a profound impact on me emotionally, but I was so proud to be part of it— this kind of project is exactly why I became a writer. A dream come true.”

—Jacqueline Rose

The first threads for the Living Eulogy have been woven.

Your support helps make the next chapter possible.

A Eulogy for Jane Doe is expanding beyond the page into monologue, music, and movement. Bringing this work to life means bringing artists together—and ensuring they are compensated for their creative labor. Our immediate fundraising priority is to pay the writers, musicians, dancers, and other artists who are creating this next phase of the project. Your contribution helps turn their work, and this collective act of remembrance, into reality. As funding grows, we hope to expand the project's performances, educational outreach, and Living Eulogy.

Your contribution can help fund:

ARTIST COMMISSIONS
Compensating the writers, musicians, dancers, and other creative collaborators developing new work for A Eulogy for Jane Doe.

MUSIC & PERFORMANCE
Supporting the creative development and eventual presentation of a multidisciplinary work that weaves together words, music, and movement (rehearsal, production, and documentation).

EXPANDING THE PROJECT’S REACH
Sharing the project through the Living Eulogy, educational workshops, and community engagement.

***A portion of donations also supports the DNA Doe Project and its work to identify the unidentified. A special thank-you: Donors who contribute $500 or more will receive a complimentary print featuring one of the project's art-and-poetry pieces.
